Wa-Hi Girls Soccer Fall to Richland in Penalty Kick Shootout

The Wa-Hi Girls Varsity Soccer team battled the Richland Bombers to a 2-2 draw in double overtime Tuesday, September 8, in a hard-fought home matchup in Walla Walla. Richland ultimately edged Wa-Hi 4-3 in the penalty shootout to win 3-2, bringing an exciting and closely contested match to an end. Emily Abbey and Laney Hand each found the back of the net for the Blue Devils, with Kennadie Frei recording an assist. After the teams remained tied through regulation and two overtime periods, the match was decided by a penalty shootout. The Blue Devils battled through the shootout, with Esther Perez, Kennadie Frei, and Makayah Lawyer each converting their penalty kicks. Despite the result, the Blue Devils showed determination throughout the match, fighting through two overtime periods and a dramatic shootout against a strong Richland squad. Wa-Hi Volleyball Opens Home Match with 3-1 Win Over Chiawana

The Wa-Hi Girls Varsity Volleyball team earned a 3-1 victory over Chiawana on Tuesday, September 8, in a home matchup in Walla Walla. The Blue Devils were led offensively by junior Audrey Davenport, who recorded a team-high 24 kills while hitting .314. Sophomore Gracie Pearce also had a strong night at the net, finishing with 23 kills and a .333 hitting percentage. Senior Delilah Franssen added 10 kills, while senior Monroe McCaw helped lead the offense with 36 assists. Wa-Hi’s strong offensive performance helped the Blue Devils secure the 3-1 win, taking three games while Chiawana claimed one. Final: Wa-Hi 3, Chiawana 1
