Richland ultimately edged Wa-Hi 4-3 in the penalty shootout to win 3-2, bringing an exciting and closely contested match to an end. Emily Abbey and Laney Hand each found the back of the net for the Blue Devils, with Kennadie Frei recording an assist. After the teams remained tied through regulation and two overtime periods, the match was decided by a penalty shootout. The Wa-Hi Girls Varsity Volleyball team earned a 3-1 victory over Chiawana on Tuesday, September 8, in a home matchup in Walla Walla. The Blue Devils were led offensively by junior Audrey Davenport, who recorded a team-high 24 kills while hitting .314. Sophomore Gracie Pearce also had a strong night at the net, finishing with 23 kills and a .333 hitting percentage. Senior Delilah Franssen added 10 kills, while senior Monroe McCaw helped lead the offense with 36 assists.
